Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

By accessing RouterCut, creating an account, or purchasing a license, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be legally capable of entering a contract in your jurisdiction. If you use RouterCut for a business, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that business.

2. The product

RouterCut is CNC computer-aided-manufacturing software that imports or creates geometry, generates and simulates toolpaths, produces G-code, and may connect to supported CNC controllers. Features, supported platforms, machine compatibility, and system requirements are described in the application and on the RouterCut website.

Simulation and machining-time estimates are aids, not guarantees. RouterCut is not a substitute for machine training, sound fixturing, correct tooling, or controller-specific safety procedures.

3. Accounts and security

Free use does not require an account. Purchasing, restoring Pro, and managing device activations require a RouterCut account with a verified email address. You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your credentials, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

4. Free and Pro licenses

• RouterCut Free: You receive a revocable, non-exclusive license to use the available Free features.
• RouterCut Pro: A completed one-time purchase grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable perpetual license to the purchased major-version capabilities.
• Devices: One Pro license may be active on up to three personal devices across supported platforms. Activations may be transferred through account management.
• Commercial use: Pro may be used for personal projects and to design or manufacture products for sale. It does not permit reselling, sublicensing, renting, or distributing RouterCut itself.

You may not bypass licensing controls, share an account to avoid purchasing required seats, use RouterCut unlawfully, or remove proprietary notices. Rights provided by applicable law for interoperability, security research, or reverse engineering remain unaffected where they cannot legally be excluded.

5. Ownership and your files

RouterCut and its software, branding, documentation, and original content are owned by Kasem Stacey or the applicable licensors. You retain ownership of your SVGs, designs, project files, toolpaths, and generated G-code. You are responsible for having the rights needed to use imported designs and other content.

6. Pricing, payment, and upgrades

Prices and applicable taxes are displayed before purchase. Web and desktop transactions are processed by Paddle, the merchant of record and authorized reseller. Google Play processes Android purchases. Their payment and buyer terms also apply to the transaction. RouterCut never receives your full card details.

A Pro license is not a subscription. Purchased capabilities remain licensed permanently, subject to these Terms. Bug fixes, compatibility fixes, safety updates, and maintenance of purchased features are not separately charged. Future major feature releases may be offered as optional paid upgrades; declining an upgrade does not cancel the purchased license.

Refunds are governed by the RouterCut Refund Policy, the payment provider’s procedures, and non-waivable consumer rights.

7. CNC safety and your responsibility

CNC machinery can cause serious injury, fire, and property damage. Before cutting material, you must independently verify the work coordinate system, machine limits, stock dimensions, tool geometry and condition, spindle direction and speed, feeds, depths, clearances, clamps, fixtures, controller settings, and generated G-code. Keep guards and emergency-stop systems functional, remain present as required by the machine manufacturer, and perform a simulation followed by a dry run or air cut.

You are solely responsible for deciding whether a toolpath and program are safe for your particular machine, material, tool, and setup. Never operate machinery unless you are trained and authorized to do so.

8. Availability, updates, and support

RouterCut may evolve, and online services may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, security, or reasons outside reasonable control. A valid device-bound offline license is intended to permit temporary offline Pro use, but account, purchase, activation, and recovery workflows require connectivity. Support scope is described with the edition purchased and may require a reproducible issue.

9. Warranties and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RouterCut is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or remedy that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kasem Stacey will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profit or data, machine damage, wasted material, personal injury caused by unsafe operation, or business interruption arising from RouterCut. Where liability cannot be excluded, aggregate liability relating to a claim will not exceed the amount you paid for RouterCut during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury.

10. Suspension and termination

Access to accounts or online services may be suspended for fraud, chargebacks, security threats, material breach, or unlawful use. If these Terms end, provisions concerning ownership, payment obligations, safety, disclaimers, liability, and disputes survive. Lawful project files on your device remain yours.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in British Columbia have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Before filing a dispute, please contact routercut@kasem.dev so the parties can try to resolve it informally.

12. Changes and contact

Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, when appropriate, communicated through the product or account email. Changes do not convert a perpetual license into a subscription. Questions may be sent to routercut@kasem.dev.
